Bethany Smith has been appointed to the position of Chief Human Resources Officer at Milliken & Company, which is a renowned worldwide company that is well-known for its creative solutions in the field of materials science. In this capacity, she was responsible for providing strategic human resource assistance and collaborating with top management. In addition, she has held positions such as Human Resources Vice President for Milliken’s Healthcare Division, Human Resources Director for the Textile Business, and Director of Talent Acquisition and Learning and Development. Her background is rather varied.
of the beginning of her career, Smith worked in the manufacturing department of Milliken, where she gained invaluable first-hand knowledge on the ground floor. Notably, she was a member of the project that was essential in re-building the Live Oak Plant after it had been destroyed by fire in 1995. Milliken has been her primary employer for the first half of her career; however, she also worked with MAU Workforce Solutions for fifteen years, during which time she provided human resources (HR) knowledge to manufacturing organizations all over the world, including Milliken.
Smith, who is a staunch supporter of diversity, equality, and inclusion (DE&I), took part in Milliken’s DE&I program and is actively involved in supporting a variety of community programs. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Clemson University, as well as a number of professional qualifications, including as Certified Personnel Consultant, Korn Ferry Leadership Architect/360, and Certified Human Resource Business Professional.
